Melbourne Ice Slide

June 26 2016 By melbournemamma 21 Comments

On Friday we headed in to the city for a special preview of the new Melbourne Ice Slide.

In case you haven’t heard, the heart of Southbank has been transformed into an action packed winter wonderland for the school holidays, as Eureka Skydeck hosts the giant Variety Ice Slide for kids, parents and the whole of Melbourne to enjoy.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

From now until July 17, a thrilling 40-metre long, four-metre high ice slide has been set up alongside Southbank’s waterfront, allowing passers-by to experience the thrill of riding an inflatable tube on the exhilarating journey down the slide.

The kids loved racing down the icy slope and didn’t seem to care that it was about -100°C there. Ok, that might be slight exaggeration but it was bloody freezing on Friday.

Open daily from 10am until late, with prices starting at $10 for three ice slides, the Variety Ice Slide is sure to delight all ages and suit all budgets.

Eureka Skydeck, in partnership with Mirvac and Fuze Tea, will donate a portion of the funds to not-for-profit organisation Variety: The Children’s Charity. For more information visit www.eurekaskydeck.melbourne.

How cool is my son’s latest @lego project - Dom’s Charger from Fast and Furious 🖤👦🏻⁣
⁣
Based on the iconic 1970s Dodge Charger R/T, it’s packed with authentic details. The opening hood reveals a model version of the iconic V8 engine. Other cool features include moving pistons, wishbone suspension, steering system and air blower. There are even nitro bottles in the trunk to bring Dom's daring high-speed chases to life. Just like the real thing!⁣

“1959: Grace is a young mother with four children under four. All she ever wanted was to have a family of her own, but there are thoughts Grace cannot share with anyone in the months after childbirth. Instead she pours her deepest fears into the pages of a notebook, hiding them where she knows husband Patrick will never look. When Grace falls pregnant again, she turns to her sister, Maryanne, for help.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1996: When Beth's father, Patrick, is diagnosed with dementia, she and her siblings make the heart-wrenching decision to put him into care. As Beth is clearing the family home, she discovers a series of notes. Patrick's children grew up believing their mother died in a car accident, but these notes suggest something much darker may be true.”⁣⁣⁣
