Dear Santa Printable Christmas Letter

November 27 2018 By melbournemamma

I made a Dear Santa printable letter for my kids and I’d love to share it with you.

You can download and print a copy of the letter below.

dear santa christmas letter template

As my children get older (8 and 11), I’m finding it harder and harder to come up with great gift ideas and I’m sure Santa struggles too.

They usually end up giving me a long list of random stuff – stuff, that they don’t need or even really want. Stuff that they play with for a short amount of time, sometimes only Christmas Day (don’t you hate that!!!), before it begins to gather dust on a shelf or gets hidden in a cupboard.

In this letter I give them five choices only – something they want, something they need, something they’ll wear and something they’ll read. They can also ask for one special thing that they REALLY want, so that Santa knows which gift they’re hoping for the most. It’s also a great way to steer them away from only asking for toys.

Please feel free to print it for your kids too. Click here to open PDF version for printing.

There’s only four weeks until the big day, so make sure you get the kids to mail their Dear Santa letter to Santa ASAP.

What are your kids asking Santa to bring this year? Share them in the comments below to help other parents (ie me!) come up with some great ideas.

25 low cost ways to entertain the kids

School holidays can be a drain on your wallet (AND also your patience LOL), so I’ve put together a list of 25 low cost ways to entertain the kids and stop them saying “I’m bored!” every five minutes.

Make these school holidays something to remember and enjoy the simple things in life.

  1. Visit the library
  2. Bake cookies
  3. Paint your nails
  4. Have a picnic
  5. Do a puzzle
  6. Game night
  7. Cook dinner together
  8. Watch the sun set
  9. Go to a playground you haven’t visited before
  10. Write a letter to a family member or friend in another state or country
  11. Camp in the backyard
  12. Go for a walk around your neighbourhood
  13. Paint or decorate rocks
  14. Plant some vegetables or flowers in the garden
  15. Organise to meet up with some friends for a bbq at a local park
  16. Write a story
  17. Create a treasure hunt
  18. Bake and decorate cupcakes
  19. Ride bikes or scooters
  20. Fly a kite
  21. Family movie night
  22. Build a blanket fort
  23. Chalk drawing on the driveway
  24. Wash the car
  25. A-Z scavenger hunt

Who knows, you may even enjoy a few of these yourself.

How do you keep the kids occupied during the school holidays? Let me know in the comments below.

What child doesn’t love a glass of ice cold flavoured milk……..

We LOVE to drink milk and although my kids prefer plain milk, we do have flavoured milk once in while, so when we received some Sipahh straws, they couldn’t wait to try them out.

Based on the iconic 1970s Dodge Charger R/T, it’s packed with authentic details. The opening hood reveals a model version of the iconic V8 engine. Other cool features include moving pistons, wishbone suspension, steering system and air blower. There are even nitro bottles in the trunk to bring Dom's daring high-speed chases to life. “1959: Grace is a young mother with four children under four. All she ever wanted was to have a family of her own, but there are thoughts Grace cannot share with anyone in the months after childbirth. Instead she pours her deepest fears into the pages of a notebook, hiding them where she knows husband Patrick will never look. When Grace falls pregnant again, she turns to her sister, Maryanne, for help.⁣⁣
