Getting to know Kellie from Fujinella

Today we’re getting to know Kellie from Fujinella.

Kellie1

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

I started my own label Fujinella after having worked in fashion wholesale for many years, I needed to go back to my creative roots, working day in and day out with the same clients became frustrating and I needed more.

I came from a family of seamstresses, my Nana actually taught me how to sew very early on.  I don’t ever remember not sewing, my first piece @ 8 years old (pattern and all) was a onesie made for my sister, she wore it to school, only thing was I forgot to include a zipper and had sewn her into it so she had to be cut out of it to go to the loo (quite distressing for a 5 year old!) ….

Getting to know…….Suzie from Milladdi Kids

June 13 2012 By melbournemamma Leave a Comment

This week we’re getting to know Suzie from Milladdi Kids.

1. Tell us a little about yourself?

I grew up in the Central west of NSW on a farm located 65km west of Forbes.

We spent a lot of our time as kids playing outdoors or building/creating things, whether this was from a bit of wood and nails from dad’s workshop, or some fabric in mum’s sewing room there was always something to do.

I have very talented parents, my dad who can build machinery or anything to do with woodwork and a mum who is a clever seamstress, knitter and quilter.

The creative gene runs right through my entire family, we all have our specialty and love nothing more than seeing an idea come to life.

I moved to Melbourne 8 years ago with my now husband Andrew, since then we have two beautiful girls Milla (4) and Addison(2). They are our two cheeky monkeys, and our world. I love nothing more than making them new outfits or re-decorating their room. This is how Milladdi Kids started, I ran out of things to add to their room, so I started to make things for friends.

I love what I do, it is my out! If I want time out I go out to the shed or lock myself in my sewing room. It is my relaxation!! My other hobbies include painting, reading, visiting craft markets and seeing all the fabulous working mums with their lovely creations, going out for breaky Most of all I love doing craft with my girls.

2. Describe your store in one sentence?

Handmade decor for those amazing little people in our lives.

3. What do you sell?

Personalised wooden name blocks and quilts.

4. What do you love most about what you do?

I love nothing more when someone loves what I do and wants to put it in their special one’s room.

5. What are 3 of your favourite labels for little ones?

Little Doll Cake, Redfish Kids, Chalk n Cheese.

6. What’s one item you can’t live without?

My phone! (hate to admit it)

7. What’s one item your kids can’t live without?

Their Animal pillows!

8. Favourite place to shop for yourself?

Witchery and Country Road.

10. If you weren’t running the store what other job would you like to do?

When I am not running Milladdi kids I work as an Executive Assistant. I love my job, but if I had a dream job it would be working on Getaway for sure!

11. Favourite place to take the kids in Melbourne or Victoria?

A new found place, it’s called Cheeky Chino’s in South Melbourne. They have the most adorable baby chino’s and they have a playcentre attached which has a facilitator there to assist your kids, whilst you put your feet up and have a cuppa yourself and chat with friends!

You can find Milladdi Kids on Facebook or visit them online.

How cool is my son’s latest @lego project - Dom’s Charger from Fast and Furious 🖤👦🏻⁣
⁣
Based on the iconic 1970s Dodge Charger R/T, it’s packed with authentic details. The opening hood reveals a model version of the iconic V8 engine. Other cool features include moving pistons, wishbone suspension, steering system and air blower. There are even nitro bottles in the trunk to bring Dom's daring high-speed chases to life. Just like the real thing!⁣

“1959: Grace is a young mother with four children under four. All she ever wanted was to have a family of her own, but there are thoughts Grace cannot share with anyone in the months after childbirth. Instead she pours her deepest fears into the pages of a notebook, hiding them where she knows husband Patrick will never look. When Grace falls pregnant again, she turns to her sister, Maryanne, for help.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1996: When Beth's father, Patrick, is diagnosed with dementia, she and her siblings make the heart-wrenching decision to put him into care. As Beth is clearing the family home, she discovers a series of notes. Patrick's children grew up believing their mother died in a car accident, but these notes suggest something much darker may be true.”⁣⁣⁣
