One of the things I love most about Summer is watching movies under the stars.

Moonlight Cinema

The most well-known outdoor cinema in Melbourne is without a doubt the Moonlight Cinema. Held in Melbourne’s beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens, the grassy hillside allows movie goers to thrown down a picnic rugs and enjoy the gorgeous surrounds before the movie even begins. Now until 2 April 2017

Rooftop Cinema

A cinema on a roof in the heart of Melbourne. Owned and operated by a sharp team of creative minds, Rooftop Cinema is committed to showcasing arthouse, classic and recent release films in a completely unique urban environment. Rooftop Cinema is built to be an urban idyll, a complete contrast to the noise, bustle and crowds of the city. Up on the roof you have the sky above you, the grass beneath you, and a film and the Melbourne skyline in front of you.

 

Note: Rooftop Cinema is a licensed venue. Minors are permitted to enter the Cinema only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Lido’s Rooftop Cinema

South Wharf Pop-Up Cinema

Grab your friends and family and head down to South Wharf this summer for the ultimate viewing experience with the arrival of Common Man’s free pop-up cinema! Until the end of February, local film buffs can enjoy the newest cinematic experience on Common Man’s bright green Astroturf, complete with air-beds, a candy bar full of your favourites, a 7m x 4m screen and sound system made for movie magic. Twilight evening sessions running Monday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday until Monday, 27th February 2017.

QV Outdoor

QV Outdoor Cinema is back for a second season with more dog friendly screenings, themed weeks and pre film entertainment. Following a hugely popular premiere season last summer, QV Melbourne’s Outdoor Cinema returns with another program full of Melbourne’s favourite things: live entertainment, free cocktails, special food, red carpets, instafamous dogs, charity screenings, a film festival and more.

 

Sessions begin at 8:30pm Thursday to Sunday nights until 26 February 2017.
