Denim has been a fashion staple for decades, loved for its versatility and timeless appeal. From jeans to jackets, denim can be dressed up or down to create a variety of stylish looks. If you’re a denim lover or looking to amp up your wardrobe, here are some must-have denim pieces that every woman should own:

1. Classic Blue Jeans

No denim collection is complete without a pair of classic blue jeans. Opt for a well-fitting pair that shows off your curves and flatters your body shape. Look for timeless styles like straight leg, bootcut, or skinny jeans that can be easily paired with different tops and shoes. A good pair of blue jeans can be dressed up with heels and a blazer or dressed down with sneakers and a t-shirt.

Tash Mid Rise Ankle Length Girlfriend Jeans $45, Lee Women’s High Baggy Jeans $63, Alexa Ripped Girlfriend Jean $109.95

January 11 2023 By melbournemamma 5 Comments

2021 Reading Challenge

January 2 2021 By melbournemamma 12 Comments

Attention book lovers! I’ve set myself a reading challenge for 2021 and I’d love for you to join me.

I know what it’s like to be a busy mum (ie not have much time for reading), so I’ll only include 12 books in the challenge. However, I’ll also include an additional six books for those of you who will have no problem smashing through 12 books in one year.

As a chronic migraine sufferer, I don’t read as many books as I’d like too but thanks to an almost six-month lockdown here in Melbourne (#bloodycovid), I actually managed to read 30 books in 2020.

I’m not sure how this year will pan out, but I’m aiming to read 25 books this year.

You can see how I went in my 2020 reading challenge here.

I went into this book knowing very little about th I went into this book knowing very little about the Vietnam War, and it was a real eye-opener.

Kristin Hannah has an incredible gift for bringing history to life, and The Women is no exception. This emotional and powerful story follows the experiences of women who served during the war - stories that are often overlooked - and it left a lasting impact on me. I love historical fiction, and Kristin is truly a master storyteller.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Women can be heroes, too’. When twenty-year-old nursing student, Frances “Frankie” McGrath, hears these unexpected words, it is a revelation. Raised on California’s idyllic Coronado Island and sheltered by her conservative parents, she has always prided herself on doing the right thing, being a good girl. But in 1965 the world is changing, and she suddenly imagines a different path for her life. When her brother ships out to serve in Vietnam, she impulsively joins the Army Nurses Corps and follows his path.

As green and inexperienced as the young men sent to Vietnam to fight, Frankie is overwhelmed by the chaos and destruction of war, as well as the unexpected trauma of coming home to a changed America. Frankie will also discover the true value of female friendship and the heartbreak that love can cause.”

Have you read this or any of Kristin’s other books?
